Top Layer (Immediate Release)

Cranberry Extract1,2,3

Contains hippuric acid and proanthocyanidins, which research suggests prevent bacteria, especially Escherichia coli, from adhering to the uroepithelial cells lining the bladder wall. Additionally, proanthocyanidins are known for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

D-Mannose8

Prevents the adhesion of E. coli to urothelial receptors. Given that recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) are common in dogs and cats, preventive use of D-mannose in cases where infection is due to external factors is a valuable tool.

Horsetail (Equisetum arvense)4,5,6

Contains a high concentration of flavonoids that give this plant a diuretic action, helping in the elimination of sand. Additionally, its phytotherapeutic properties are antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory.

Bottom Layer (Extended Release)

cistitis idiopática en gatos recomienda fomentar el consumo adecuado de agua.

Lower Urinary Tract Disease (LUTD) encompasses a range of conditions affecting the lower urinary tract, including the bladder and urethra, and generates clinically similar symptoms in both dogs and cats.

Among the most common causes of LUTD are idiopathic cystitis in cats and bacterial infections in dogs. Obesity and stress represent primary risk factors that can increase susceptibility to urinary tract diseases in our pets. For prevention, especially in cats, promoting adequate water intake is recommended.

La enfermedad LUTD impactan las vías urinarias inferiores tanto en perros como en gatos-Pharmadiet

LUTD impacts the lower urinary tract in both dogs and cats. In dogs, urinary tract infections (UTIs) can have an incidence of up to 27%. Virtually all of these infections are caused by pathogenic bacteria ascending from the external genitals and the urethra, with E. coli being one of the most common culprits.

Feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC), also known as feline interstitial cystitis, is a relatively common disorder in veterinary practice. It can manifest as recurrent obstructive episodes, more common in males, or as non-obstructive episodes, which are common in young and female cats. Its origin is unknown in many cases and has been underdiagnosed to date due to a lack of etiopathogenic understanding or its similarity to other urinary syndromes.

How do the nutrients in the URPRO® XR complementary feed help pets?

URPRO® XR provides nutrients that support the proper functioning of the urinary system, especially at the level of the lower urinary tract.
