Newborn or young puppies can have their proper development interrupted if they lack adequate conditions and nutrition, especially if they lack maternal milk.
Among the problems that may arise are malnutrition, dehydration, and compromised immunity. Maternal milk provides nutrients and passive immunity (maternal antibodies), protecting the newborn from infections and diseases.
Proper nutrition. With essential nutrients that contribute to proper development and growth.
Cleanliness as its mother would. Clean with a damp cloth, rubbing its abdomen pressing towards the anus (thus stimulating digestion).
Provide a heat source and ensure that the bed is always dry.
Encourage movement, but remember they should not go out for walks without complete vaccination.
For orphaned puppies, unable to suckle or with breastfeeding problems. Lactadiet dogs with colostrum are a source of suitable nutrients for proper development.
In newborn or young dogs.
